Peace and Security Terrorism

Member States of the African Union have long espoused the need to counter terrorism at both the individual and collective levels. This concern led to the adoption of the Convention on the Prevention and Combating of Terrorism by the 35th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Organization of African Unity in Algiers in July 1999.
