Extremism Terrorism Cohesion Multiculturalism
It is beyond dispute that the UK has faced a significant Islamist terrorist threat in recent years. The 7/7 bombings of July 2005, in which 56 people from a variety of backgrounds died in four coordinated terrorist explosions on public transport, graphically illustrated this reality. The scale of the Islamist challenge has been subsequently confirmed by a number of uncovered plots, the failed attacks of 21st July 2005, and the attack on Glasgow airport in 2007.
